How to choose a Srinagar heritage day
An old-city walk, a museum visit and an artisan appointment each deserve their own time.

Start with a neighbourhood
For architecture and everyday city life, request a focused route around Khanqah-e-Moula, Zaina Kadal, Maharaj Gunj and Jamia Masjid / Nowhatta. A guide can adjust direction, walking length and vehicle links around your preferences and local conditions.
Make room for the museum
Bait-ul-Meeras is a heritage house and cultural centre in Aali Kadal, run by HELP Foundation. Give it a focused visit rather than treating it as another quick photo stop. Check opening and gallery access for your date, and choose a museum-and-craft day if collections and making interest you most. Do not assume opening hours or tickets from a generic itinerary.
Choose one craft appointment
A carpet loom, pashmina weaving, sozni embroidery, papier-mâché painting or woodcraft visit depends on a willing host. Agree the visit fee and whether it is a demonstration, workshop or shopping appointment. Purchases are optional; ask for written material, origin and delivery information when buying.
Let worship set the pace
These are living religious places. Ask before entering, follow clothing and shoe rules, and request permission for photographs. Prayer, observances and local restrictions can change access. A multi-faith route is best planned as a separate day with steps and visiting permissions checked.
